The lower limb limit motion range with prosthesis Procarve
Štrupl, Jaroslav ; Hruša, Jan (advisor) ; Matošková, Petra (referee)
Titel: The lower limb limit motion range with prosthesis Procarve Goals: Measure of skiers with above-knee amputees with prothesiss Procarve. We want to find differences in joints mobility between healthy and amputated lower limb. After that we want to consider the impact to differences on the techniques of downhill skiing. Method: Literature review, interviews , expert interviews , laboratory measurements Results: At this time, thanks for advances in progress on prosthetics are beginning to explore new possibilities for people with above-knee amputation in sports activities. In our work we just focus on these topic. Selected activities will be downhill skiing on two skis. On this issue , we focus on differences in joint mobility on healthy and amputated lower limb. Amputated limb will be equipped by the special ski Procarve prosthesis from Otto Bock company. The measured results will help us to identify appropriate techniques of downhill skiing. Key words: downhill skiing, above-knee amputation, prosthesis , downhill skiing technique
Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation
Katolická, Tereza ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Maroušková, Anna (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation. Summary: My bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of lower limb amputation. The theoretical part includes knowledge from the science information sources focused on the subject of amputation, prosthetics and to specific rehabilitation procedures. Attention is also paid to the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. The practical part focuses on the case study of a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation. It describes input and output kinesiological analysis, rehabilitation plan, course of the therapies and the final evaluation of the effect of the therapies. The case study was written during my four-week practice in the rehabilitation clinic of Malvazinky in Prague. Keywords: above-knee amputation, prosthetics, case study, rehabilitation
Swimming technique of physicaly disabled swimmers with unilateral above-knee amputation
Čuříková, Lada ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Jandová, Soňa (referee) ; Fořterová, Petra (referee)
Headline: Swimming technique of physically disabled swimmers with unilateral above-knee amputation Aim of the Thesis: The aim of this thesis is to describe the intra-individual differences in the swimming technique of unilateral above-knee amputees by measuring the EMG of selected muscle groups. Methods: Surface EMG measurement in combination with using synchronized video recordings. Results: Research of the observed swimmers with unilateral above-knee amputation showed that: when swimming the front crawl, the swimmers unequally balance the intense kick of right and left leg mainly using the abdominal muscles and subsequently also in the electric potential of different sizes in other observed muscles; when swimming the backstroke, the upper body muscles on the side of amputated limb do not show any different activity than the muscles of the opposite side; when swimming the breaststroke, the main propulsion muscle for locomotion through the shoulder girdle - m. latissimus dorsi is activated for a longer period of time on the side of amputated limb; thereby, electrical activity of the selected muscles is not symmetrical in the timeline. Key words: swimming step, swimming, above-knee amputation, electromyography, muscle activity, handicap, EMG.
Technique and methodology of skiing with one-sided above knee amputation on two skis
Hruša, Filip ; Hruša, Jan (advisor) ; Matošková, Petra (referee)
Thesis title: Technique and methodology of skiing with one-sided above knee amputation on two skis. Main objectives: Propose a methodical series for beginners with one-sided above knee amputation on two skis. Method: The work is of theoretical-empirical character, this is an explanatory case study applied to three probands, skiers with one-sided above knee amputation. Firstly, a content analysis of publicly available methodical publications will be carried out. Then the observation method with the following description will characterize probands technique by watching video records. Finally, we will propose a methodical series in which we will reflect the observed problems in the technique. Results: We found out in our bachelor thesis, that the same basic mistakes appear in amateur skier beginners, therefore we have proposed a theoretical methodological series that should lead to their elimination. Key words: above knee amputation, prosthetic, transfemoral amputation, prosthetic, skiing of amputees, skiing with prosthetic, ProCarve, C- leg, Genium.
Downhill skiing with exarticulation of the knee joint
Hruša, Filip ; Hruša, Jan (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
Thesis title: Downhill skiing with exarticulation of the knee joint. Main objectives: Evaluate prosthetic options for people with exarticulation in the knee joint for downhill skiing on two skis. Goals: 1) Suggest prosthetic solutions for downhill skiing with exarticulation of the knee joint. 2) On the force measuring plate L.A.S.A.R.-Posture, measure gravity center of skier on proposed prosthetic systems and evaluate substantial features for downhill skiing. Method: The work is empirical-theoretical nature. The methods are comparative analysis and observation with subsequent description. The monitored variables were skiers center of gravity position, and angles of the ankle and the knee joint at the neutral position and the base downhill ski position on the power measuring plate L.A.S.A.R.-Posture. Becouse of complexity and uniqueness of this issue, we chose a case study. Results: In our thesis we verify that there are available prothesis in the Czech Republic, which allows to people with exarticulation of the knee joint, safe skiing on two skis.
